Serica’s CEO elected to the UK National Committee on China’s advisory board

UKNCC - Benjamin Speyer appointed to the UK National Committee on China's advisory board

London, 14th April 2023 – Benjamin Speyer, CEO of global technology and financial advisory firm Serica, has been appointed to the advisory board of the UK National Committee on China (UKNCC). Benjamin’s commitment to promoting education and dialogue between the UK and China reflects the shared values of Serica and the UK National Committee on China.

The UK National Committee on China (UKNCC) is Britain’s leading organisation in strengthening decision making on China-related issues through world-class education and exchanges. The advisory board, led by Sir Malcolm Rifkind KCMG, is responsible for providing strategic guidance, supporting flagship activities, and ultimately approving all funding to ensure the organisation’s independence. Serica is proud to announce Benjamin’s appointment to the advisory board joining renowned leaders from across political, business, and civic life.

Reflecting on his appointment, Benjamin Speyer remarked, “I am deeply honored to join the advisory board of the UK National Committee on China. Since moving to Hangzhou, China in 2014 I’ve been a passionate advocate for constructive and fact-based discourse on Sino-UK relations, particularly in science and technology. This is necessary to reach many of our shared goals in areas such as climate change, healthcare, food security and poverty alleviation. I look forward to utilising my experience in this sector, alongside a fresh entrepreneurial (and millennial) perspective, to help the UKNCC grow and realise its ambitious vision.

This appointment marks another milestone in Serica’s UK expansion, fostering cross-border collaboration and trade between world-class innovators addressing major global challenges.
